And a fitting Christmas indeed. In that vein, I got a Kindle Fire HD plus quite a few real books for Christmas. I know what I'm doing the rest of the day (besides drinking and eating!).
That's the thing ... I've yet to actually read a book on it. It's fantastic for everything else as well. Have been emailing and surfing the web on it. Plus it has streaming video, so I watched an episode of Fringe and a movie.
In the "paper" world, I'm currently in the middle of Neal Stephenson's Quicksilver, a rather large book, so it might be awhile before I'm reading something on the Kindle.
I'm most of the way through a larger large book myself - although 'only' just under 500 pages it's a hardback about the V weapons used against London in the last year of the war. Fascinating stuff.
Belated Merry Christmas and Boxing Day! Back from the cruise, but stuck in the airport in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. I managed to read 2 novels and a novella of 3 stories while on vacation. I also watched the first season of Breaking Bad on my iPad, and am well into the first season of Downton Abbey. Now I'm catching up on my e-mail, FB, and blogs. This is a sucky, small airport, but they have free wifi, so that makes up for it.

Many people have recommended the Kindle to me. Of course I have *far* too many physical books as yet unread to make that such a good idea....
