This is true, but sadly not the case in my marriage. I think I can count on one hand the number of books that both my wife and I have read. Off the top of my head: The World Without Us, Cormac McCarthy's The Road and The Hunger Games.

I don't know of anyone who reads like me - quantity, breadth or particular books [except maybe sc....] My ex and I used to read in bed (different books) which I thought was a mixture or sweet and strange - plus it was probably a way of saying that she didn't want sex without hurting my feelings.... [lol]

CK said, "I don't know of anyone who reads like me - quantity, breadth or particular books ..." -- same here. Everyone I know is either locked into a specific type (romance, mystery) or don't read at all. Both are sad states.

It is scary the number of people who don't read much if at all. I've even known people who are *proud* of the fact that they haven't read a book since High School! They must have a really superficial understanding of the world if all they see is what's on TV or in newspapers.
