Though I'm in a WoW Guild I mostly Solo quest. There's a few hard core members who are very focused but they don't expect the rest of us to be like that. There's a bit of light ribbing but it doesn't get any worse than that.
I've heard lots of horror stories of the pressure people get put under to 'perform' during Guild runs but if I ever came under that kind of pressure I'd leave the Guild faster than you could say feign death!

The Guild members are all people I know from or in work and I've known many of them for many years. Rather than being anti-social I find it a good way to keep in touch with people who often live miles away.

[lol] I have a friend or two like that!
Mike said: Tried SWTOR for a bit, because a friend wanted to try it. Meh.
I know of it - but the whole Star Wars thing has never done very much for me.
Mike said: I'm still MMOed out. Dark Souls II comes out this coming Tuesday, so I will be wrapped up with that for quite some time.
Nothing on the horizon for me. I'm plugged into WoW for the foreseeable future.....

And this is why I don't play MMOs, or if I do, I play nearly solo.

I loved Star Wars until the prequels came out. SWTOR is very WoW-like, at least to me.
I'd rather play WoW, as my hunter was decent at soloing.
Hunters are one of the best, and easiest, types to solo. I have 3 ATM (one of each type).
In total I have 13 WoW characters across 2 servers (one for Horde and one for Alliance).
First time I went on a WoW break, something similar happened ...
Guild needed a tank.
I thought the same about SWTOR. Was excited by playing in that world but the game itself was a very subpar WoW clone. Similar story with the rest.
