I was brought up to be polite no matter what and try my best even in difficult circumstances (we have some very difficult/demanding customers from time to time.... So it becomes very noticable - and effective - when I'm no longer polite [lol]
Sometimes I can do that, sometimes not. I wasn't raised by a polite mother. She was always more than willing to say what she thought. I try to do better.
It isn't always easy. There's also that line between being polite and being a doormat. Sometimes people try to take advantage when you're polite seeing it as weakness. That's when I stop being nice and stop being polite!
