I've probably got 2-3 weeks of food in the house at a push.... After that it'll be scavenging. The first winter would be the hardest. After enough people have died off it'd be better....
The first few years would be quite difficult but after that things would get back on their feet. We'd probably end up as a weird hybrid of 18th century civilisation with 21st century knowledge.
Well, knowledge OF the 21st century. I think actual knowledge of how the world works is beyond a lot of people - it's not that they're 'ignorant', they just don't care. We'd still have some advantages, though, like germ theory .

Sadly true. The prevailing thing seems to be willful ignorance. It both saddens and angers me in equal measure. Even people I know to be intelligent simply don't care to know things.... They have no curiosity and limited reasoning powers. Scary.
