I'm happy Bernie Sanders is running for President. He's too far to the left to get elected, but stranger things have happened. I will support him up to the primaries, then support whoever the Democratic Party selects. It will be interesting to see if Sanders can build a groundswell of support. He's already raised more in three days than any Republican candidate, and his donors are individuals and unions.

Do you think Hilary will have a good shot at being President? The papers here are almost saying it's a done deal and the Democrats have the power to lose it rather than the challenge of winning. The Republicans seem all over the place - with the advantage of 2000+ miles between us giving perspective...

I think the vast majority of the Republican candidates are too crazy, or pandering to the religious crazies in the party, to convince moderate Republicans to vote for them. The moderates are who have been deciding recent elections. I also think moderate Republicans don't like Clinton. In order for Clinton to appeal to Democrats, she's going to have to convince them she's not the same corporate centrist that we're all sick of, but she is. It will be interesting to see what she does. Recently she's begun moving left and spouting more populist ideas, but not going far left like Bernie Sanders. She has the dangerous tight rope to walk of going just far enough left to convince Democrats to believe in her, but not so far left as to alienate moderates who she also needs to vote for her. Of all the candidates running right now, she has the best chance of getting elected, but the Republican Party is really successful at stirring up hysteria and convincing people to vote against their own interest, so I don't believe it will be that easy for Clinton.

It's going to be interesting to watch from way over here. Watching the Republicans tear lumps out of each other will be most entertaining.... [lol]
