Just got back from the NFL International game @ Wembley where the Miami Dolphins lost (badly) to the New York Jets. Of course the game could have gone the way I'd hoped except that the Dolphins could hardly catch a thing...... Still, I had a fun day out! Here's to next year.....

The Jets won? My every cultural reference has them as the team that perpetually loses! I didn't realize American teams ever played overseas. Do they draw a large audience? Do people comment that they're not playing rugby right? You know -- "Why do they keep stopping the clock/ where's the scrum", that sort of thing? Not that I know much about that, but I've watched videos on YouTube about rugby and it sounds more watchable than American football. Honestly, the downs system remains a mystery, and I'm from the South where football is practically a religion, at least at the college level.

This is the 9th year of the London International games. Started with just one, now has three games in October. This was my 2nd year.

LOL - The clock stopping is *weird*. It's also funny that it takes 4 hours (not including the 2 hours before play) to play 1 hour of football. Here they play for two sets of 45 minutes with very few breaks - except when someone breaks a bone! I can see why they have so much side entertainment to keep people interested whilst the players are twiddling their thumbs.

I'm sure that it means something to someone but I'm a complete novice at this sort of thing. Maybe I need to read up on it if this is going to be a regular thing?
We passed by the game on t.v. here, looking for another game. We were pleasantly surprised to see how many people attended.
It was almost full - only 3K under the top capacity of 90K. Lots of American voices around too. It had a real party atmosphere with a lot of people wearing team colours - all teams, not just the guys who where playing on the day. I do think the whole cheese thing on the head is a bit strange though!!
