Came back? I didn't realise they'd gone anywhere. They even sell them in my local supermarket now as we have a large number of US consultants 'helping' us with our future business planning. I've laughingly told them that they've warped the local economy.... [grin]
Back in late 2012, Hostess filed for bankruptcy and there was great noise among in the news, the echo chambers of idiocy, that Twinkies were disappearing. They were purchased by another company, though.
I personally have never eaten one. :-p The big brand in the Southeast is Little Debbie.
