I thought that might get your attention..... You (obviously) know who she is, but do you know the episode? I think you'll probably get it easily.... [grin]
I hope that the new series is better than the new movies - which I hate with a passion! Then again I'm used to being in a minority (often of one!!).
It's a shame that the original idea of having a female 1st officer was too much for American audiences to stand for (at least according to the Network bosses). Majel Barret was wasted as the nurse....
The episode is the first pilot! (The Cage, later re worked into "The Menagerie".) She's the emotionless one, Spock is just..weird. There's a scene of him screaming "THE WOMEN!" on the transport pad.
According to Roddenberry in a "Star Trek Lives" cd, he was told he could keep the alien or the woman, but not both. "So I kept the alien and married the woman, because I couldn't do it the other way around," he adds to listeners.

Greg Cox just wrote a novel (Captain to Captain) that features her. Her name? Una......:-D

I understand that the New Star Trek series takes place around the Time of The Cage.
Perhaps we will get to see more of Number One.
It will not be the same without Majel Barret however.

LOL - Good one! I did think the new Spock was a VAST improvement over the original. That guy would've never made it to being my childhood hero.
More Sci-Fi women to come.........
I didn't know any of this! Thanks for the education! :-)
