I have never cried myself to sleep after an election before. :-(

I thought that would happen with you. My commiserations... I guess that we're not the only idiotic electorate in the West.

I am still sick over this. He is beyond, unfit for office, this is tragic.

The world is in a weird place right now. I can't explain it but crazy things seem to be coming the norm. I shake my head in disbelief and wonder if this is why we've never received signals from other species out there - because all species get to a certain level and then go nuts and destroy themselves. I'm definitely getting a 1930's vibe right now and not in a good way. I guess we'll see just how dark the rabbit hole to going to get.

I worry about another world war with such irrational people gaining power. I don't understand what people are thinking. They are making such bad choices and they either don't understand the ramifications, or don't care. Either way, I am fearful. People I know, who I thought were kind, decent people, are not only voting against my best interests, they're voting against their own.

I think it stems from 2 things - Fear and Anger.

The Fear is because things are changing. The old certainties are gone or are going and the speed of change is going up. Not just technology and stuff but social change. It's starting to happen faster than quite a few people can cope with and they want it to stop, they want someone to stop it for them: hence the talk of building walls and taking back control. Of course we never had control and walls never stop anything.

The Anger comes from those left behind as the world changes - those often at the bottom of the heap, the disposable, the new Precariat who have almost nothing left to lose. Rightly they feel that no one has done anything for them for decades and they're sick of it. Being consigned to the dustbin of history has made them angry (I fell the anger myself) and they are tired of seeing the smug so-called elites dismissing them. Well, with both Trump and Brexit they've wiped a lot of smiles off a lot of smug faces and, I'm guessing, they won't be taken for granted next time.

Maybe, just maybe, something good can come of all this......
