i've read several of Bank's novels... has a wonderful imagination, but they seem to have gotten more gross(sadistic, bloody, cruel, etc.) over time so i finally quit reading them... like i mentioned, i'm old and a tiny bit of that goes a long way... i just finished wading through Jack McDevitt's series on Alex Benedict and Chase Kolpath and their antique business... 7 books so far, taking place in the far future... entertaining, maybe a tad lightweight, but they kept me reading...
I'm a HUGE Banks fan. Such a pity he died so early. As long as violence etc is in context (and certainly not there just for 'entertainment') I can deal with it. I'm not too squeamish generally....
Presently reading a selection of books made into movies from various genre's. I like to 'play' with my reading to keep things fresh.
The grass is under the snow - plus the farmer will be distributing hay and other feed from time to time. Nothing to be worried about really....
i'm eclectic in my reading also... sci fi, mysteries, classics, plays, poetry, etc. don't seem to cover as much as i used to , though... i'm half way through a Donna Leon and will get going on some 1930's mysteries when i finiish this, i think... although you never know; a bit frivolous i am, yesss...
As you might have seen from my reading list I'm quite eclectic myself. Essentially I'll read anything that I think might be interesting, informative or enlightening.
