Or at least, enabling politicians to assert more power over everyone else...

I guess that it all depends exactly *how* she's changing or intending to change things. She might be working at a grass roots level to raise political awareness or a million other things. She might, indeed, be actively working against the political powers that be in all their myriad forms. It's difficult to tell from a single moment captured in time and a single slogan on a single placard.

That was from one of the women's marches, I believe. As horrific as things have been politically, the best thing that's come of it is people are more politically active. They're not only participating in large marches, they're donating more money, they're showing up at town halls and representatives' offices to hold them accountable for their votes. That's something, whether it will be enough, I don't know. In my small way, I'm keeping my circle of friends informed about gerrymandering, cases in the courts, laws being proposed or drafted, and encouraging them to share the information. It's going to get worse before it gets better, but I'm going to keep fighting.

Although on the 'other side of the pond' I like to think that I'm contributing in my own little way over here - arguing about politics with anyone who will listen to get them to actually think about their own beliefs, voting in a way to reduce the damage I think is both happening now and coming our way, challenging the accepted world view with alternatives and, of course, regularly producing this Blog..... [grin]

The more people actually *engaged* with things the better I think....
