Of course 'over here' we'd ruin the whole thing because we date things like this: 14.3.15 rather than 3.14.15..... Just no fun us Brits! It's probably why we lost the Empire..... [grin]

I do that, too -- it was a pretension I adopted in college and still use. I'm adding peculiarities, though...lately I've taken to writing the year as "A.D. 2017", just to be ornery.

(Of course, when I date the sign-in books for various things at the library, I will sometimes slip in a German or Spanish name for the city/month to see if anyone notices. Sometimes I will refer to the day by a holiday. On December 21, 2012, for instance, I referred to it as "End of the World". Just a little joke to see if anyone actually checks the date on the book they're signing!
