Nervously awaiting someone or something? The painting captures a palpable feeling in the young woman. Interesting that she has had time to order a drink but has not yet begun to savor it - also the deep red of her top and a cigar (?). Mysterious!
@ James: Yes, there's quite a back story there. Is she waiting for someone or has she been stood up? Is she anxious, afraid or sad? She's obviously had time to smoke some of her cigar (from him?) but hasn't touched her drink. Plus the hustle reflected in the mirror that she's separated from.... A very good painting indeed. Something you could stare at for quite some time.
