I think that basic respect for human beings is most definitely a work in progress!!

This makes me encouraged in some cases and so sad in others. Like, who cares. Let people be who God made them to be, and love who they love. I do believe that God created us, and each of us was wired exactly in the way He intended. That includes the LGBTQIA+ community. And because God doesn't make mistakes, those who identify with that community are not mistakes, not 'choosing' to be gay, or trans, or bi, or anything else. Not difficult to comprehend, right? And yet here we are...

@ Sarah: Yes, Humanity - at least at times - looks to be moving in the right direction at least when human history is looked at over a long enough period. It can ebb and flow though as we are experiencing ATM. It does 'amuse' me when Christians in particular challenge a group as being 'wrong' in some way. Presumably if you believe (which I do not) that God created everything and everyone exactly as He wanted them to be - which is logical from the core belief system - then to criticise someone's existence is to criticise God's creation. Hubris really doesn't cover that kind of attitude.

And they don't see it that way, which baffles me! But, they are the ones who typically believe that people choose to be gay. So I always ask when they chose to be straight, if it is a choice. I rarely get answers, just blank stares. Sometimes when people say they did not choose and they are as God made them, it is how they were created I respond with, "EXACTLY!"
