I think a lot of stress comes from the natural frustration at *not* being able to control things...... But there's so little we can *actually* control... If people realised that they'd suffer from far less stress in their lives.
we've been watching a series on the history of the English Monarchy. it became evident early on that humans were just as cranky and contrary in the Anglo-Saxon age as they are now... maybe living in the Iron Age was more peaceful but i doubt it...

@ Mudpuddle: Human nature doesn't change very much - even over 1,000s of years. Drop us back into the Iron Age and we'd fit in pretty fast.
