We can, if people would get vaccinated. How is it going over there with this delta variant? We are pretty much fucked, because people still refuse to either a) get vaccinated or b) wear masks if they don't want the vaccine.

@ Sarah: We're pretty much back to 'normal' here and most restrictions have been dropped. People are still being asked to mask up inside but its not mandatory any more. Cases of infection have been dropping and things are looking pretty good so far. 70% of adults are fully vaccinated and over 80% have had at least one jab. The expected massive increase post-delta and post-opening hasn't happened - at least yet.

I've been watching some of the news over there. Crazy that health and Public Health at that has become so politicised. I can't understand why looking after your own well being and the well being of others is a *political* decision. Getting vaccinated is, at least to me, a complete no-brainer. The vaccine means the chance if you getting the bug is much lower, the chance of being very ill is MUCH lower and the chance of dying almost non-existent. Why *wouldn't* you get it done??????? [looks completely confused]

From the BBC today:

More than 68% of 18 to 29-year-olds in England have had a first jab.

More than 72% of UK adults have had two doses so far, while 88.5% have had one.

[We're really getting there.........]
