I love seeing old computers. I remember the behemoths we had in elementary school, but there was nothing better than computer day when we got to play Oregon Trail on those massive machines.

@ Mudpuddle: It's an AlphaSync Gaming Desktop PC. My current one (which is honestly dying) is over 7 years old which is REALLY old in computer years. My new one is MUCH bigger, faster and has LIGHTS inside. Why? I have NO idea! I didn't pick it though. I have a friend who works in IT so I just buy what he tells me to.
OMG!! LIGHTS INSIDE!! i suppose fins would be out of budget? i look forward to the day when computers will be built to resemble people... i want a Richard M. Nixon for sure!
Ooh! Congrats on the new pc. Mine needs an upgrade -- I purchased it in 2016 and have upgraded a lot of the parts since, but it has last-gen ram and one of AMD's mid-tier chips. I need something I can play Microsoft Flight sim on!
...ooh, you're going to have to get used to Windows 10 now, aren't ya? ;)
@ Stephen: IT LIVES............... I haven't had a really big upgrade for a while so, after various bits of my old PC began failing I bit the bullet. The new beast was delivered this morning @ 08.35 and I've been installing things and problem solving since! It didn't help that one of the things that failed was the mouse which I replaced this morning.
But overall I'm impressed. It's a bit smaller than my previous with about 6 times the storage, MUCH better graphics etc. I actually *think* it's Windows 11... [grin] I've been on Win7 for AGES... [lol] It wasn't *hugely* expensive and will last me 5 years, so... Still need to get used to the LIGHTS though!!
@ V V: Never been a fan of Macs... [grin] I'm a PC person from LONG ago. I was forced into the upgrade by a series of issues with my older kit. Happy with the result though!

what kind are you getting? if it's not secret... i'll never get used to them, having grown up in the typewriter age...

Congratulations on the new computer. After decades of wanting a Mac, I finally got one last summer. It’s a gem of a computer.
