I had seen a couple of episodes of the original Dr. Who when I was a kid and couldn't get into it then. I'd like to watch them now but they aren't streaming on any of our services. Because I had a negative impression of the original I had no desire to watch the new one. A friend convinced me to watch Season 3 Episode 10, titled Blink, and I was hooked. David Tennant is a treasure.
I was a huge fan of Romana II too. Played by the ever lovely Lalla Ward - who of course married Tom Baker, divorced him 16 months later and then married Richard Dawkins after being introduced to him by Douglas Adams! Small world as they say...

"Spoilers."
[grin] I'm guessing that's a catchphrase of hers? I tried to get into the 'new' Dr Who but just couldn't...
It is.

Tom Baker is my idea/ideal for Dr Who. It probably helped that I had a HUGE crush on Sarah Jane Smith/Elizabeth Sladen.
Sarah Jane Smith was definitely a fun character.
