I was fully expecting to be overwhelmed by it all - especially after being away from the full cinema experience for SO long.. But... unfortunately I wasn't as blown away as I expected. Only over the following weeks did I slowly realise just how brilliant this film is. I'm SO, SO glad that Part 2 is going to be made.
But the 'thopters just totally took my breath away. I SO want one!!
@ Mudpuddle: SF technology! If they could work out how to do it these would be fantastic. Good enough for dragonflies!! [lol]
@ VV: I'm thinking of seeing it again so that I can just relax and let it wash over me this time - plus pick up at the bits I missed first time around.
@ V V: Good! Have you read the book(s)? I was *very* impressed at how closely they aligned and the amount of little details in the film came directly from the book. Acting was very impressive too - especially Paul (a much better match than Kyle M in the Lynch version) and, of course, Duncan Idaho who was my favourite character from the first three books (I haven't read the 2nd trilogy yet).

I loved this movie! Even my dad (who is not a sci-fi fan) was impressed by the ornithopters. :)

Cool! We’re going to see it on Saturday.
