I was actually *really* surprised that registering for the Draft is compulsory for guys over there.... We haven't had that sort of thing since the 1950's. I know you guys seem to be off fighting wars all over the planet on a regular basis, but..... Do you really feel the need to have THAT many potential soldiers available? I find it all rather odd.
Oh, I thought that *restricting* the vote was the Republican way to power... [grin]
Yeah, it's weird. But since we think we are the world police, we have to have soldiers ready all the time. Now, there are absolutely times we should intervene (like to STOP the IDF from continuing the genocide against Palestine, which we won't do, but is a whole other topic that I could scream about for days), but there are also many times that we should not, because it is not necessary. But we will intervene every time the capitalists are threatened with the idea of earning less money, so...
