I don't read thrillers, so Stephen King is not on my list. But I've heard him talk about democracy etc. a lot and I really like him as a person. He knows what he is talking about. And thinks.
I haven't read him for a LONG time - not being a huge fan of horror stories - but he does seem to have his head screwed on correctly. We need more people like him speaking out about what's important right now.
