...and so ends Book Month here at SaLT. I hope that you liked at least some of my posts. Now it's back to (ab)normal - except for a sight detour coming soon - until October. I see a whole WORLD of possibilities.

Heheh, looks like the first edition American art on those. My HP collection is all library discards...I just need HBP to complete the set. (I also have a German version of Philsopher's Stone and a British edition of Philosopher's Stone -- the only ones I bought new!)

I read the first few but was less than impressed. To be honest I couldn't see what the fuss was all about. I *think* I saw the first two movies - ditto.

It may be an age thing: my cohort literally grew up with the books. I'd say the movies are worth watching for the actors alone -- no shortage of talent!

I found the books hugely derivative and lacking much originality - plus I thought they were childish. That's not to say that I can't or haven't enjoyed children's books as an adult - I have and do. But I felt that the HP series talked down to its readership. Just not my thing.
