Plus, don't we hear about the abolition of slavery anyway... and exactly who was involved in it? I believe its in the history books and taught in school (or WAS until recently in parts of the US).
We definitely learned about abolitionists, but I also went to school in the north where we recognize that the Civil War was literally about slavery. Not just states rights, but STATES RIGHTS TO OWN SLAVES.
