Me too... But I ended up studying Philosophy. [grin]

No, they ended up studying international relations and European studies, both having to do a lot with politics.

Sounds like FUN. I was looking at a Masters course on International Security a while back.... I miss University... [grin]

Oh yes, they both enjoyed university and it was definitely their subject, having grown up in an international life in various countries. I would have loved going to university but ... I probably mentioned it before, my parents had three more children and no money.

I was very lucky in some ways. Although my parents couldn't afford to send me to Uni I managed to get a full grant (which paid for my tutor fees and accommodation) because of my fathers low income. I came out in debt (inevitably!) but paid that off fairly quickly after I found a job. I paid for my later degrees myself as I'd been working for a long while by then plus I had a small lottery win that paid for a years tuition....

If only one of my teachers would have helped me ask for that, I might have been able to do that, but my parents didn't know and nobody told us.

I also miss school. I'd love to get my doctorate in medieval history, with a focus on Ireland and the UK. I will make everyone call me Dr. and become a professor and live in a castle somewhere in Scotland.
