Yes, we absolutely call them pro-birth. They don't give a fuck about the fetus as soon as it becomes a living, breathing little person. And if said person turns out to be LGBTQIA+, need mental health services or financial support of any kind, all bets are off. It is fucking disgusting.
In my school district, we get 10 sick days and 2 personal days off per year. If we use more than that, we just don't get paid for that day. When I was pregnant with Eleanor I had to use half days when I had dr appts. I had her in the summer and was going to get six weeks of maternity leave. I ended up getting 8 week because I ended up needing to have a c-section. So, all of my sick/personal days for the following school year were used before I even started back at school. My last day of maternity leave was my first day no getting paid. So for every appointment or any time she was sick the rest fo the year, I was not paid. Maternity leave here is a fucking joke.
I *think* my place offered 6 months on full pay and another 6 months on half pay....... Plus the partner (if they worked there too) got 3 months parental leave with full pay. Europeans get an even better package.

LOL, TRUTH!!
This kind of post is part of my 'Serious Sunday' idea. MUCH more to come.....
I explained this to an American like that once. Haven't heard from her since.
I guess that 'pro-life' means different things over there.... Or that Americans see our pro-life philosophy and call it "Socialism"... [lol]
I read somewhere that they are not pro-life but pro-birth. I think that sums it up.
