The optics of Trump getting shot were great -- that photo of him, fist raised with the flag behind him, yelling FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT! -- but people wearing "bandages" over their right ears the next week was something out of political satire. I get the impulse -- je suis Donald and all that -- but it was a "really??" moment.
