Working on it! ICE arrived yesterday and protests grew within minutes. I was unable to attend any because Eleanor and I had been driving back from MN for most of the day, and then she had a flag football camp to attend, but I will be at the others coming up.
LOL! I am debating participating, because Eleanor is home that weekend and I want her to see the power of protesting. But the issue that gives me pause is the location of the protest and the fact that the College World Series starts on Friday. Downtown is going to be packed with college baseball fans, which always brings extra police because these ten-ish days also bring sex traffickers, because we are literally in the middle of the US and major interstates converge here. I wish organizers here had picked a better location, away from downtown. When we were out protesting George Floyd's murder, we took over the busiest intersection in the city, which by default makes it the busiest intersection in the state. Completely shut it down. I feel like that's a much better location to get the most attention while being safely away from downtown and the additional chaos there.
