A game I said I'd never get, then finally did.... and LOVED it....

I never got into MMOs back in the day because were on dial-up, and the idea of subscribing to a game was abhorrent to me even in the imaginary circumstance that I had money to spend on it. Now subscriptions to everything are the norm. -_- Kinda wish I'd experienced this or Everquest back when they were huge, though. Closest I've come is getting into Among Us during coronamania when it exploded.

My friends & I all agreed that we'd *never* rent a game.... then ONE bought it... then a 2nd..... Hearing them over comms made me finally bite the bullet (plus, I think, it was on offer). After struggling with it at first I got the hang of it & became obsessed... I have 16 characters in all across 2 servers - Horde & Alliance separated for ease. Played it to death for YEARS before moving on to something else. It was one the THE defining games in my life.

I can get that!

BTW, are you picking up anything from the Steam summer sale? The one game I was hoping for a good discount on (Wylde Flowers) is still over $20, so I'll keep waiting....

Just been looking @ the Sale today. Nothing leaps out at me yet.... Playing 'Oxygen Not Included' ATM. Some new fun DLC to work with. Easy going & quite hypnotic.

My 1st WoW character was a Worgan warrior - essentially a 7ft tall werewolf. I described her (whenever I get a gender choice I always choose female), much to the complete bemusement of my work colleagues, as the kind of girl who would punch through your chest, rip your heart out and then eat it in front of you as you died. She did, however, love belly rubs and was always happy to accept high-quality flea powder as a gift.
