Passwords are like underwear....change them often, keep them off your desk, and never share them. Over the years I've drifted into just letting Firefox randomize wild strings and use those, since even if I know the password (off-browser or on a new machine) places insist on texting me regardless.
We had machine generated passwords for a while. Of course people wrote them down - because they could never remember them.... [grin] But passwords are a real pain - especially when you have more than a few.
The fun thing is trying to login to websites you haven't been on in like a decade and thinking..."Hmm....who was I then? Was it a girlfriend's nickname? A Star Trek reference? A phrase in Latin, because I was in a mood that month?"
