A lot of people come into the library because they want to go to school online, but opening a browser and navigating to their email stymies them. It's a daily exercise in.....patience.......
When we opened our new business site (admittedly back in the early 90's) we spent a week 'inducting' new people and this included teaching them how to use the IT network. I found it pretty amazing how many people hadn't used a PC before. We literally had to show them how to use a mouse and get them practicing the 'double click' to open things. After 3 months of that we got pretty good at it! So I definitely appreciate the need for patience....
The amount of people who are still completely unfamiliar with basic computer things amazes me. "I should get on this computer stuff, it's the future". No, sir, it's not the future. It's the now. It's been the now for at least 35 years.

I'd be the first to admit that I'm a User and nothing special.... But its 2025 people you need *basic* IT literacy just to get by these days....
