Did you see that Scottish kid yesterday with the knife and hatchet against some migrant who were harrassing her? Quite the little badass! I saw a fundraiser for her, but it hosted in Germany so I have my doubts over whether it's legit.

No, news to me.... Sounds fake. I posted this particular thing because of the school shooting in Minneapolis.

Actually the incident is legit (in that it happened).. The girl has been arrested...

I already knew she was arrested -- for defending herself against aggressors -- and I'm not surprised the media hasn't reported it.

Well, it seems that a group of youths threatened some Bulgarians... So she was arrested for threatening behaviour.... with offensive weapons.... So, as usual, not exactly as 'social media' would have us believe.

The BBC would have you believe two and two make five IMHO.

LOL- I'd certainly believe the *BBC* over a random TWITTER post... [rotflmao]

@Stephen - Daily Mail has done an in-depth update on this story - the "migrants" in question were actually a Bulgarian man and his wife, and there is no evidence that either of them were illegal or harassing the girls. They have been living in the UK since 2021 and have an 8-month baby. Not sure what was going on with the teen girls, but it's looking very likely they made the whole thing up.

I don't know if Blogger will let me post a link, but the title of the article is "Revealed: The truth about the 'migrant' who a Dundee schoolgirl brandished a knife at... and how wrong rabble rousers Elon Musk and Tommy Robinson were"

Thanks Marian. I thought it was something like that from the brief BBC reporting.

Right?? Just watching the quick video clip makes it look completely different than what happened. I'll stick with the BBC over that, too.

Practicing these drills with my students is awful and I hate it. The worst part, is they're so used to it at this point.

This latest killing hits very close to home for me, as I'm from a suburb of the Twin Cities. The image of the mother running barefoot through the streets made me sob. Mothers will always run toward the danger to get to their children.

Two years ago Eleanor had been dropped off at my school (her district gets out earlier than mine) and she was in my "office", which was just an open space in the stairwell by the elevator. Completely out of the blue, not sure why I suddenly felt like I had to tell her this, but I said that if we were ever to go into a lockdown, for her to hide under the stairs back behind the extra chairs and desks, no matter how dusty or gross, and wait for me, don't come out, I will come to you. About 45 minutes later our school went into a lockdown and I've never run so fast in my life from my classroom to my office. She was doing exactly what I'd told her, and luckily the threat ended up being outside, but the lockdown was called because it was right at dismissal and people had been coming in and out when the threat was detected.

Have I maybe mentioned before that you live in a FUCKED UP country?

Yep. Like my girl Taylor says...I hate it here.
