California has just passed a new law, all federal and local law enforcement including ICE agents are not allowed to wear face masks while on duty. Hopefully other states will follow.

I wonder what impact that'll have? Profound probably!

...none. ICE is a federal authority, and various laws and one war have set federal authority over state. As a libertarian and a localist, I wish that weren't so.

Odd, isn't it, that MAGA are ALL for 'States Rights' until it stops them doing what THEY want to do in Blue States. It's *almost* as if MAGA are simply hypocrites speaking bullshit.....

Well, that was true during the 1850s as well: the fugitive slave acts being a prize example. Everyone uses the tool that presents itself.

If Federal Agents break State laws... presumably they can be arrested for it by State police?

(shrug) By the Constitution as originally written? Yes. (Well, there were no state police in 1783, but nevermind.) These days? Acts of SCOTUS have pushed the perspective that the Constitution takes precedence over any state laws, constituting the "supreme law of the land" this is why States can't have state religions even though the Constitution only restricts the NATIONAL government from imposing a religion. I strongly dislike this policy of precedence myself -- I believe that SCOTUS doctrine contributed to a loss of federalism in the US, making the national government more and more dominant -- but that is the bed that California helped make. There are areas like marijuana law where state and federal policies bump heads still: if this leads to a court case it will be interesting.
