Haha, I actually have one underneath my bed. They were throwing it away at work and I just couldn't let that happen.
I did that with a REALLY old stapler. It was just too well-made to allow it to go to landfill. But the rule was I couldn't just *take* it. I had to wait until after it was in the rubbish bin.... THEN I could remove it and take it home [lol]
Just looking at the picture brings back memories and reminds me how nervous and careful I was when using one of them.
They were certainly not to be trifled with!
I still have one and use it regularly. But it shows that kids can get on much better with things than many adults believe.
...and its a good 'learning' opportunity - like fire is HOT.
True, many kids don't learn even that anymore. It's like with Sleeping Beauty.
