That is a fantastic quote. I will use that from here on forward. I've heard people saying, but AH built our first motorways. Yeah, right, he did a lot of other things that have to be mentioned first. And he only built the streets because he wanted them for his war.
I was thinking about using it too. Agreed - fantastic quote! It is like saying that Stalin 'loved his children' or was a 'keen gardener' or some such - as if that in any way negates the fact that he was directly responsible for untold numbers of dead and damaged people.
Yup, the autobahn was built to facilitate troop movements as was the Interstates in the USA (and probably our Motorway system here to be honest). Didn't Mussolini 'make the trains run on time'? Its all the same nonsense and whitewashing of history...
