I think the problem, for some people, is that if they don't acknowledge what's (clearly) happening then they're not obligated to do anything about it - or even think about it too much. They do this to feel safe. Seeing the way the wind is blowing is scary - or would be if you know anything about 20th century history..

Good question. Some of them still survive, they were raised differently. :(

They don't want to do anything, the rather blame others for their own situation.
