Just back from my Flu vaccine appointment. Quick & efficient as ALWAYS. Thanks NHS! Its my first post-65 freebie, not that the previous cost was ever very much - I think it was £10 when I started getting them and is £20 these days. That's quite the bargain when you think about the alternative. Anyone who has had flu before (myself included) knows that a £20 layout is worth every single penny. If you haven't been shot yet I definitely recommend it....

Hooray for free healthcare, something that should be a basic human right!

Isn't it *already* a basic human right - just that your country doesn't believe in it (or at least your government - on both sides - doesn't).

It was really simple too. Got a text from the Docs, followed the link, booked my appointment (about 2-3 weeks ago), walked 5 minutes there this morning, gave my details, waited in a short Q and chatted to an assistant, had my shot, walked home via my local shop and picked up some cookies.... Sorted.

We always get our shots every autumn. Same as in the UK, it is free for older and sick people but even before that, there is hardly anyone who has to pay for it. But even then, it usually is around €20. So definitely worth it. I had to google it because with mine and hubbies illnesses, we always got it free.

As it should be - of course! I couldn't believe that the nurse/assistant I spoke to said that lots of people just don't take up the offer! Astounding.

I guess they rely on their tin foil hats. ;) Natural selection, I say.
