I've always maintained that, as a species we are smart enough to create nuclear weapons then stupid enough to use them. Likewise we will be smart enough to create completely autonomous killing machines... and be stupid enough to deploy them.

Well, we've had drones with autonomous targeting for a bit, I think -- that do facial recognition and then execute targets without waiting for confirmation from base. But yes....very foolish.
At some point in the next 15-20 years I think...
