I haven't read enough of him in context to know if this was an observation or a criticism. Given his view of man (correctly) as inherently a creature of the Polis, I'd wonder if it didn't have a whiff of criticism about it.
A friend of mine totally HATED solitude. Even the idea of it made him itchy! He could stand it for about 20-30 minutes then had to go out and find someone to be with. I thought that he was VERY weird. If I was denied my alone time too much I'd go crazy and would do ANYTHING for a bit of solitude. I don't just like it (or have grown used to it) but I NEED it.
I'd classify you as HUMAN Ms V. That's enough... Although we are (ALL) wild beasts if you dig deep enough.... [grin]

I've read/studied him a bit... I'd say it was a criticism. As men are generally *not* Gods... that makes solitaries wild beasts... [growl!]
I delight in solitude but don’t honk I’m a beast or god. Is there another option?
