V for Vendetta.

A group of us went to see Aeon Flux last night @ the local Multiplex and they where showing trailers for 'V for Vendetta' which looked rather cool. So I checked it out and found some rather good posters advertising the film which I found rather impressive.

I do like poster art & sometimes wonder if, in another life, I could have been a graphic artist. I think that I'd have been pretty good at it.

I am so looking forward to this film. I'm well surprised it ever got made, but it's apparently reasonable faithful.

V for Vendetta is the only comic I ever read, and Aggie has dragged me to see all the silly comic film adaptions, so now it's my turn:-)

Plus, it will be fun to watch the houses of parliment being blown up by Guy Fawkes. I wonder if it will get the same loud cheer thta Independance Day achieved with the explosion of the White House:-)

From what little I know of the storyline I too am surprised it got made. Apparently it was due to be shown here on the 4th November - the 400th Anniversary of the start of the Gunpowder Plot.. but unfortunately the London bombings of the 7th July put paid to that idea. Apparently it's now on in March.

Looks like it could be fun... and I'm quite looking forward to seeing the Houses of Parliament go 'boom'.

Maybe after the film. I don't want to ruin it.

'in another life, I could have been a graphic artist'. What do you do in this one, just curious, don't answer if you don't want to.

For my sins I work in IT. But hopefully not for much longer... I drifted in - and hopefully I'm going to drift out again. By 'training' I'm a Sociologist - which is why I'm in IT (of course).

I don't know this movie...I'll have to look it up! Love the Poster...it kind of looks like the drawings used for "Neighborhood Warch" signs...ewarning would be burglers that this or any neighborhood that has one of these signs posted HAS a Neighborhood Watch...the artwork is veey similar!

Congrats on your purchase of a Golden Barrell!! Hooray for you! (Echinocactus Grusinii, that is... these plants are just utterly fascinating to me...more than any other plants in nature...I mean the whole spectrum of Cactus, Cactus-Like and Succulant Family's of Plants....Beautiful and Mysterious and Ancient, too! All SURVIVORS!

More posters later - it is good isn't it. LOVE the quote at the top. It's rather topical I thought [grin]

I'll keep you informed regarding my new cacti. I have my eye on some Aloe Vera next.

I think this movie looks awesome--though I am usually disappointed.

As with most things.. hopes often outpace reality.

But we *can* hope.. [grin]

Ooh, love the poster! Like the darkness juxtaposed against the light and the blue/grey tones.

Ah-ha! someone else who notices colour in films - I'm instantly pleased to talk to you - cyberkitten will (if forced) relate more than one story of me nudging him in a cinema or pausing a DVD to note something about colour or lighting or camera angle (but most often colour)

Drives him mad :-)

The slow erosion of civil liberties makes V for Vedetta's depiction of Britain as a police state less sciece fiction and more prophecy. Be vigilant citizens.
