@ Mudpuddle: From the craft seen in the distance on the top(ish) right I'd say it's a Steampunk airship. Bit of a strange one though. It doesn't have the feel of a warship - a (very) open bridge etc... But why are there (seemingly) hand cranked Gatling guns on either side? For defense against what? They'd be defensive weapons but without shields you could take out the operators with a rock... So.... Defense against air-pirates???? Weird!
the officer is dressed like Capt. Nemo and there's another vessel off the starboard bow... not sure those are gatling guns, either... the gold instrument in the foreground is curious: oh, there's a ladder descending down through the hole where it sits, so it must be an extension of some piece of machinery below the cabin... it's got a dial and a valve and what looks like a pressure relief valve, so maybe there's a helium balloon underneath... these things are fascinating and help me waste my time: excellent! now that i'm retired.. where'd you find this pic?
@ Mudpuddle: I checked... they're definitely Gatling's... [grin] I think the instruments are a mixture of naval & airship (not that I'm very familiar with either). I think the golden 'tower' thing by the woman in blue is a floating compass. There's definitely a LOT going on here to wonder about!
The art is by Vadim Voitekhovitch from Belarus who has done quite a few of these 'Steampunk' pictures. More to come! Like everything else I post here I stubble across them in Google image searches. Amazing what you find on the InterWeb... [lol]
