One of my favorite lines from the Sharpe books is when Hogan tells Sharpe not to worry about the young lady who's run off -- she's just been reading too many novels and getting wild ideas about romance! I know it's posted at RF somewhere, but I can never find it unless I'm not looking for it.

Novels were often accused of 'turning the heads' of young women so raising their expectations in life - Romance? Love? Excitement? Kindness? Whatever next....?

Where they still burning @ the stake back then.... Or just throwing 'troublesome girls' into asylums? You'd be in SO much trouble! You'd have to run away to sea and become a pirate!! [lol]

I can just see it: Dread Pirate Sarah... [grin]
