The US does seem to have a persistent problem with Race... Considering that you're expected to be minority white by 2045(ish) its probably best to look at that....
I do struggle to see what they're worried about. Demography's shift... There's not a great deal you can do about that - and people have TRIED! Plus, its something that will (mostly) happen to future generations. Most of the people in a 'panic' today will be LONG dead by then. Plus.... in the final analysis we're ALL just people.... Duh!
Yes, exactly, we are fighting back against the fact that this land was stolen and the built up on the backs of Indigenous and Black people, and trying to right those wrongs, and do better than the racist mediocre white men who "founded" our country.
I always think its weird that when Europeans arrived in the 15th century that they declared both North and South America to be 'empty'. That would probably have come as quite the surprise to the *millions* of Natives already living there!

That’s what’s freaking them out so much! They’ll be outnumbered, and they can’t compete on a level playing field.
