Speaking of "radioactive redheads", I finally rented the 5th season of Doctor Who (first with Matt Smith) and have been watching it the last few nights. (I don't get BBC America). Anyway, Karen Gillan ... hubba hubba!

Tom Baker *is* Dr Who as far as I'm concerned. I liked some of the others in the original showings but I haven't had anything like the same attachment to the new batch. It's not that they're particularly bad actors it's just that I think the new versions are very badly written by people who have no real feel for SF or even for Dr Who.
I have tried to like them - being a huge fan of the originals but have found practically every episode I've seen to be somewhere between barely adequate and honestly appalling.

I'm afraid that I have been less than impressed with all of the 'new' Dr Who's..... I have tried to watch them but really, really didn't like them.
Fair enough. I grew up with Tom Baker (plus Sylvester McCoy and Peter Davison), so I can appreciate that.
