This is the episode where I realized the Federation has no real standards about membership. You've got a pretty obvious master/slave class thing going on here.
I do credit it for teaching me the word Troglodyte, though.
I always liked the way Star Trek asked some big ethical and philosophical questions. It's why the show, despite dating quite badly in places, continues to be worth watching and thinking about.
