I wonder if she's one of the refugees kids who were asked to bring their own chairs to class, because the area schools were already filled to capacity when refugees were allowed in.
I think they're Indian rather than Middle Eastern in origin. It looks like two friends on there way to or from school with the one on the right being a bit better off than the other - her own chair/desk!
Most people really don't know how lucky they've got it.....
