Well, as a hay fever sufferer I'm not a *huge* fan of sunshine (or at least not summer) and I've never quite understood the attraction to roses but I get you're point. Of course the problem Rocky had, certainly in the first (and best IMO) film was that he was dirt poor so, through necessity, swam in the shallow end of the pool.
I think we'd all like more sunshine and rainbows (I *do* like rainbows even after knowing how they work) but most people have to deal with things rather less pleasant on a daily basis... It's just the way things are ATM. So knowing a few good survival skills helps you get through the day in one piece.
