Actually the immediate post-war era is something I know very little about... except that rationing didn't end until 1954 and austerity measures where still biting deep. Not a great time to be British.

IF ONLY we could have Eisenhower, Taft, and a few others from the generation. Both sides of the aisle had better caliber.
