@ Mudpuddle: Things will definitely go that way. It's only a (reasonably) short step from 3D printing inanimate objects to printing living ones. Bacteria/viruses first... then bigger stuff. Eventually you'll be able to design an animal on your computer and get your printer to produce it for you. - the actual tailor-made pet!
