you DO have a slight obsession with them...

The eyes are the window to the soul. 😊

I only kind of realised how important eyes are too me (in attractiveness) when I looked at hundreds of photographs I've downloaded. Almost every one has a focus on the eyes. Sure there's other things going on too - like cheekbones - but time and again it was the eyes that did it for me.

sometimes i get the same kind of sense from animal eyes; especially cows... i remember as a child staring back at my grandfather's cows for what seemed like hours...

Perhaps this is only a fantasy of mine, but mammalian eyes have a depth to them lacking in the eyes of other critters. Birds, lizards, etc. have eyes, to me anyway, that seem like a blank wall. There's nothing behind them.

My delusion.

Dogs and cats certainly seem to have 'something going on behind their eyes'. Lizards not so much [grin] but birds are really smart so.....

I think part of it is that humans in particular communicate a lot through non-verbal methods. You can tell a lot about what's going on in someones head by how their face moves. When we look someone 'in the eye' we're actually picking up information from their face rather than even the most expressive eyes.
